Hello and Welcome to Trinity!

We are an ELCA congregation in the Northern Great Lakes Synod.  We have a beautiful final resting place in Lakewood Cemetery, just down the road from the church.

We hope you will join us for worship and fellowship in our little white church in the wildwoods on the Stonington Peninsula.  This congregation is a place where all are welcome and the good news of Jesus Christ is proclaimed.  From our humble beginnings over a hundred years ago and throughout the years, the folks of this Christian Lutheran community have worked hard, believed deeply in the love of God as revealed to us through the life and ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and served the Lord faithfully.

We gather together on Sunday morning for worship at 9:00 a.m. (EST).  We are easy to find.  Just turn down 513 T Road off of US 2 outside of Rapid River, and drive through some beautiful country until you find a little white church on the cliff’s edge.  During COVID, we gather together in the church parking lot, we hear God’s Word, we gather at the Lord’s Table for Holy Communion on the first and third Sunday of the month, we sing hymns of praise, we confess our faith and pray as Jesus taught us, and we are sent out into the world to spread the good news and be the hands of God in God’s mission.

There are many opportunities to participate in the life of the church.  On Monday mornings, the sewing ladies gather together from 9-noon to create beautiful quilts which are donated to various community ministries to bring comfort and prayer to those in need.  Once a month on the second Tuesday, the women of Ladies’ Aide gather for fellowship to support the mission of the church.  Our dedicated council meets monthly to provide leadership in line with our mission.  During June, our sanctuary is transformed to create a life changing Vacation Bible School.  In 2018, we had over 62 children who experienced Jesus on a deserted island after being shipwrecked.  Jesus saves us.  Over 25 volunteers from six congregations worked diligently to provide an awesome week of learning, singing, crafting and making new friends.  Our Lakewood Cemetery committee works diligently to provide a peaceful final resting place for our members and the community.  Our property committee takes wonderful care of our church building and property.  Our Music ministry provides many opportunities for worship and praise and our music director works diligently to connect hymns to the Word.

I sincerely invite you to join us.  You will be glad you did.

Blessings on your faith journey.
